First published in Iceland: It's Scenes and Sagas in 1863
In this adaptation of the Icelandic Grettis Saga, the pagan shepherd GLÁMR, after refusing to participate in Christmas observances, is killed by dark forces and returns to haunt the local inhabitants of his valley as a Draugr, an undead creature of great evil. The hero Grettir the Strong manages to defeat GLÁMR, but not before the demon lays a terrible curse upon him.
